Include the programme, course or exam board and level. “Grade 8 Maths” alone may not tell us the scope your school expects.

Local US, UK, ANZ or other curriculum

Send the school year, current topic and a sample question. We confirm the specific teaching scope and tutor availability before arranging ongoing lessons.

Match the school course before choosing a tutor

“Year 5”, “Grade 5” and “Class 5” do not guarantee the same chapter sequence. Start with the textbook or school topic list, then choose the skill your child needs to explain.

CBSE school overseas: compare area and perimeter

Two lawns measure 9 × 3 and 8 × 4 units. Both need 24 units of fencing, but their areas are 27 and 32 square units. Ask your child to draw and label each lawn: do they understand why the same perimeter does not imply the same area?

ICSE school overseas: check the base of a percentage

A ₹400 cost becomes a ₹460 selling price. Profit is ₹60 and the profit percentage is 60 ÷ 400 × 100 = 15%. Dividing by the selling price answers a different question. The explanation matters as much as the final percentage.

Local or international programme

Send the programme, year, course level and one sample question. For example, a ratio topic may expect a visual bar model, an algebraic method or both. We confirm the teaching fit; these CBSE and ICSE guides are not a claim of complete alignment with every overseas curriculum.

A short example of the reasoning we explore

Your child says a fair six-sided die is more likely to show a 6 because it has not appeared for several rolls. A teacher can list the six possible outcomes, discuss what “fair” means and ask whether the die remembers the earlier rolls.

For the next independent roll, P(6) = 1/6. It remains 1/6 regardless of the earlier outcomes. We then change the question: rolling an even number has probability 3/6 = 1/2 because 2, 4 and 6 are favourable outcomes.

The aim is to explain why the calculation fits, then apply it to a different question. Explore free worked examples and practice in the Learning Library.

Illustrative lesson example; topic and difficulty are adjusted to the learner.

Plan the class time and cost before committing

  • One child, one teacher: each live session lasts 50 minutes.
  • One free first session: no payment is needed to try it. You keep the gap map afterwards.
  • Clear scheduling: give your local time zone and preferred times; ask how daylight-saving changes will be handled.
  • Paid ongoing classes: packs are counts of 16, 32 or 64 or more classes, each 50 minutes. Prices depend on grade, curriculum and pack.

View the published INR rates. Confirm the applicable plan and payment arrangements; an INR rate is not a quoted local-currency price.

Maths is our priority subject. English and Science tutoring are also available; tell us the subject and school course so we can confirm the teaching fit.

Start with the idea that needs attention

A difficulty with ratios may begin with equivalent fractions. In the first session, a teacher explores how your child reasons through examples and discusses what to work on next. You receive a gap map after the session, which you can keep even if you do not continue.

Try free practice alongside tutoring

Explore the free learning guides and practice games. The guides show the kind of reasoning a teacher can discuss: what the numbers mean, why a method works and how to check an answer.

Questions families ask

Can we keep the same teaching time each week?

Tell us the times you need in your local time zone. We will confirm available tutor slots and discuss daylight-saving changes where they apply.

Does completing a game prove my child has mastered a topic?

No. Games provide practice. A teacher needs to consider reasoning and performance across different examples before drawing a learning conclusion.

Do we need to pay before the first session?

The first session is free. Ask about the ongoing plan only after confirming the teaching fit.
