1-on-1 online CBSE Maths tuition
for Classes 1–12

Your child can copy the NCERT method but gets stuck when the question changes. Start with the exact chapter and ask them to explain one attempt. A BananaLearn teacher can identify the earlier idea that needs attention, model the reasoning and try a fresh question with them. Explore Classes 1–10 below or request a free 50-minute session.

CBSE Maths: syllabus, examples and tuition by class

A Class 3 number question and a Class 9 proof need different teaching. Open the guide for your child’s class to see the curriculum map, two original worked examples, a visual explanation and a short practice check with answers.

Make the first conversation specific

  • Bring the actual book. NCERT books and chapter sequences have changed. Share the title, edition and current chapter; older online lists may not match.
  • Bring one attempted question. A worked attempt helps distinguish reading difficulty, a missing prerequisite and a calculation slip.
  • Agree what improvement would look like. Ask for one similar question with different numbers that your child should eventually solve and explain independently.

For Classes 9–10, use the current CBSE syllabus and confirm the relevant course option. Class 9 regular and advanced Mathematics are not interchangeable.

Which CBSE Maths support does your child need?

Classes 1–5

Build understanding before speed

Number sense, multiplication, fractions and word problems. A teacher asks your child to draw, explain and check an answer.

See multiplication explained visually

Classes 6–8

Make the steps make sense

Connect fractions, ratios, percentages and early algebra. Work on choosing a method as well as carrying it out.

Classes 9–10

Connect concepts and exam methods

Work through algebra, geometry and trigonometry using the school chapter, written steps and checks.

See a quadratic formula explanation

For Classes 11–12, share the Maths course, current chapter and exam requirements before scheduling. We confirm topic and teacher availability. School teaching order can vary; the examples above illustrate our approach rather than a complete syllabus.

What does a 1-on-1 explanation look like?

A child can answer 3 × 4 = 12 but may still struggle with “3 bags, with 4 marbles in each.” In a lesson, the teacher can ask them to draw each bag, count the equal groups and explain what the 3 and 4 represent.

Then change the question: if 12 marbles are shared equally between 3 bags, how many go in each? The answer is 4. This connects multiplication with division rather than practising two disconnected rules.

Read the full multiplication guide and try the practice.

How to make the free session useful

  • Bring one recent question. A school exercise or test answer is enough to start a conversation.
  • Tell us what happens at home. Does your child need hints, forget a method, rush the wording or avoid starting?
  • Share the school chapter and textbook. The teacher can connect the topic with earlier learning.

The first session gives a starting point, not a complete assessment. You keep a gap map on WhatsApp explaining what needs attention next. You can discuss an ongoing plan after trying the class.

Check current prices per 50-minute class. Packs contain classes, not clock hours. Confirm the applicable board, grade and pack before payment.

What you get

  • Strictly 1-on-1 — never a group class
  • A dedicated teacher who learns how your child approaches Maths
  • Aligned to your child's CBSE textbook and school pace
  • Gap map on WhatsApp after the free session
  • Discuss progress and the next learning priorities with the teacher

What happens after you request a class?

  1. Tell us the essentials. Enter your contact number, your child’s grade and subject. You can add the curriculum, a difficult topic and preferred times in the optional details.
  2. Confirm the fit and time. We discuss the topic and scheduling before arranging the first session. For overseas families, include your country and local time zone.
  3. Try the free 50-minute session. A teacher explores your child’s reasoning. You keep the gap map and can discuss an ongoing plan after the session.

Compare the current class packs and pricing before choosing an ongoing plan.

Questions before booking

Can you help with the chapter my child is studying now?

Share the class, curriculum, chapter and one example that feels difficult. We confirm the topic and tutor fit before arranging a session; the lesson can also revisit earlier ideas that the chapter depends on.

Is the first session free, and how long are later classes?

The first session is free and lasts 50 minutes. Class packs contain 16, 32 or 64 or more classes, each 50 minutes. The applicable price depends on grade, curriculum and pack; check the pricing page before paying.

Can families outside India enquire?

Yes. Tell us your country, school curriculum and local time zone. We confirm teaching scope, available times and the applicable plan before you commit to ongoing lessons.

Need a plan that fits after school?

A difficult chapter and an overloaded evening can need different solutions. Our after-school tutoring guide explains how to identify the learning gap, choose a sustainable lesson window and check understanding with a fresh task.

Maths, English and Science support can be discussed. Share your child’s CBSE class, current topic and local time zone so the plan starts with the schoolwork they actually have.
